Three Core Bleeding-Control Skills
Participants learn basic actions that may be used to help control life-threatening bleeding while professional emergency assistance is on the way.
Apply Pressure
Learn how firm, continuous direct pressure may be used to help slow or control serious external bleeding.
Pack the Wound
Learn basic wound-packing principles and when wound packing may be appropriate as part of a bleeding-control response.
Apply a Tourniquet
Learn the basic principles of applying a commercial tourniquet for severe bleeding from an arm or leg when appropriate.
Build Practical Bleeding-Control Knowledge
STOP THE BLEED® education focuses on helping participants recognize severe bleeding and understand basic actions that may help control blood loss.
Training includes education and practical learning appropriate to the course being offered.
